The Building Component Manufacturers Conference (BCMC) is the premier conference for the structural building components industry.

MiTek gave me the opportunity to step out of the everyday roll of architect and challenged me with the task of designing and implementing a modular interactive product demonstration exhibit for MiTek Industries, Inc. The solution, for the first time, required the collaboration of all departments within the company. software development, sales, marketing and manufacturing.

As the world's largest manufacturer of wood truss metal connector plates MiTek make a predominate appearance at the BCMC trade show every year. For the first time the CEO wanted the exhibition attendees to be immersed in an interactive experience. He wanted an experience that not only featured actual installation of all existing and new products, print and digital graphics that the displayed equipment and support services offered by MiTek but the technology behind the products and services to be integrated into the exhibit as well. Under the coordination mastery of Michael Klein, head of marketing, we accomplished an unforgettable event.

Logistically the frame structure had to be designed for fabrication in St. Louis, palletized shipment in two enclosed semi-trailers and on-the-exhibition-floor-assembly with man-power only. I directed the build and even lead one of the four three-man assembly teams finishing on schedule. The booth was completed well within the convention hall dictated booth setup time of 24 hours. All salvageable materials were broken down, cleaned up and donated to a local charity.
